Photograph Sliema "The Strand" Waterfront & Promenade

The sculpture on the left is in the centre of the Strand. In the distance across the other side of Sliema Creek is Valletta. A very popular and busy passenger ferry crosses the creek from near to this sculpture, saving a fairly long bus journey that wides around most of the creeks besides taking an inland short cut at one point.

The dome on the sky line is the Carmalite church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The dome was replaced after bomb damage in World War II.

The tall 65 metre spire can be seen next to the dome is St. Paul's Anglican Cathedral
